Have You Ever Imagined Putting An Airplane Engine In An Insane Hubless Motorcycle?

Believe it or not, Tarso Marques, former F1 driver imagined it…

Presumably the lovechild of a TRON light cycle and a Cessna, TMC Dumont is one of the craziest and unbelievable sci-fi styled motorcycle concept, built and designed by Tarso Marques.

I am sure you will not be told much by name Tarso Marques. This 42-year-old Brazilian was in the past a F1 driver, but for his greatest success may be two ninth places in the season in 1997. Much more expressive Marques seems to be now, as ... an eccentric constructor.

Recently, a lot of confusion was made by his company "TMC" motorcycle - Dumont - a real monster powered by a three-speed V6 engine!

The Rolls-Royce production unit dates from the 1960s and was originally installed in an airplane. The choice of such a drive is a tribute to Alberto Santos-Dumont, whom the Brazilians consider to be the pioneer of aviation.

The huge dimensions of the wheels (36 inches please) make the lack of centers even more spectacular, while the Continental GO-300 Rolls Royce's six-cylinder boxer engine produces 175 hp!

The working concept features a 60s 300-hp Rolls-Royce Continental V6 engine - the likes of which are usually found in some Cessnas - although with extremely limited ground clearance, skinny wheels and a low seating position close to the rear wheel, it's hardly a conventional speed record setter.

Not practical, ambitious and probably a bit dangerous, because in the pictures it looks as if the driver even leaned on the rear wheel. We do not even mention such trifles as turning around or even maneuvering ...

TMC Dumont is making a fuss, not only on the internet. The conceptual design has already been appreciated at the Daytona Bike Week fair, where he won the prize for the best motorcycle.

The driving video looks like the trailer of a futuristic movie. But it's not a movie - it's a real monster! And here, Marques should be thankful and respectful, because he has just made a totally crazy, crazy and unbelievable project. And crossing the boundaries of the imagination is something that allows you to do what others do not even have the courage to think about.

I feel like it should really have a seatback, because if you lean too far backwards that tire is gonna give you a very unwelcome body massage. That said, I would totally ride this thing to Bike Week and hang out with the rest of my rough and tough motorcycle gang. Well, what do you dudes say, is it time for some *lifting shirt* body shots?! No? That's cool. *to bartender* I'll just have a white wine spritzer.

Keep going for a video of the thing in action, as well as a time-lapse of it being constructed while I speculate if this thing is capable of turning at all.
