No longer the poor cousin to its European counterparts, New York Fashion Week is having a moment. Vologlam brings you the lowdown on which designers to mark your card for. Because the next season is all about tailoring, bold tone, floral prints and sequins dominating the runway at Fashion Palette New York Fashion Week.

Held at Industria, New York on Friday, September 7th, 700+ industry guests. Buyers including SAKS Fifth Avenue, Harvey Nichols, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Macys & Moda Operandi, and fashion identities were seated by the runway as 11 Australian designers showcased their Spring Summer 2019 collections for the first preview of next season trends at Fashion Palette NYFW: The Shows.

Guests such as Jordyn Woods, Chantel Jeffries, Anastasia Karanikolaou, Delilah Belle, sat front row along with influencers Carrington Durham, Chantel Zales, and Janice Joostema.

Let’s take a look at the creativity of these amazing 11 Australian designers at The Fashion Palette!

  1. 1 Bronx and Banco

    Launched in 2009, Bronx and Banco encapsulate a sophisticated, chic and sexy design signature with a playful sensibility that reflects the impeccable style of the label's Founder and Creative Director; Natalie De’Banco. Bronx and Banco this year opened the show with what’s trending for Spring Summer 2019 presenting a charming collection made up of playful silhouettes in floral prints and contrasting hues. 

  2. 2 Elliatt

    Katie Pratt knows how and what to offer something new and exciting to the retail landscape. Elliatt gave us a collection inspired by Western films styled with a ‘rodeo’ influence with floral prints, heritage check, multi-colored sequins, embroidered metallic velvet and lots of lace. Pops of vibrant reds and hot pinks through to neutral shades of cream and metallic accents highlighted the upcoming collection.



  3. 3 Saski Collection

    Influencer Tammy Hembrow debuted her activewear, Saski Collection. Created to inspire confidence in women inside and outside the gym, Saski activewear is comfortable while working out, while specially designed to complement your body and enhance your shape as you work towards your goals. 

    Classic staple pieces in mesh, fleece, and reflective accents made their way on the runway in a color palette of sage green, dusty blue, dusty pink, cream, grey and black.

  4. 4 NNCY

    This is the lived and imagined the journey of three sisters. Born within a dynamic sphere, we seek to explore the valued voices and images that lie beneath the surface of our society. Individually, we created our own paths and met at one point. This point became known as NNCY Clothing. And this year Melbourne’s very own NNCY proved why they were the ones to watch with a juxtaposing play with an array of silks, jersey, cotton, and denim. Inspired by the designer’s late mother, who was a seamstress creating versatile pieces which the label has adopted. 

  5. 5 Santina-Nicole

    The line’s philosophy is - less is more. Santina-Nicole boosted timeless elegance with each piece accentuating the female silhouette in luxurious fabrics ranging from beaded sequin, crepe, double bonded satin, mesh fringing through to cotton jacquard in a palette of Red, dusty pink, pearl blue as well as black and white.

  6. 6 Elle Zeitoune

    Elle Zeitoune played with glamorous sequined fabric and intricate soft lace inspired by Palm Spring. Her ultra-feminine, sophisticated and classic fitted silhouettes with a modern twist made up of soft pastels, deep navy, rose tones with accents of emerald and metallic golds.

  7. 7 Jagger & Stone

    The next wave of talented emerging designers did not disappoint with ready-to-wear designers Jagger & Stone, and Harvey the Label, The Blonde Republic showcasing a variety of collections. 

    Jagger & Stone showcased a modern take on the medieval style, inspired by Games of Thrones using velvet, gold embroidered mesh and rich tones of royal emerald green and wine red. 

  8. 8 Harvey the Label

    Harvey the Label played with bold prints which captured the eye and imagination with each piece cleverly designed to be worn multiple ways. 

  9. 9 The Blonde Republic

    The Blonde Republic showcased a sports lux glam collection made up of Cotton, nylon, and spandex in a classic color palette of black, white and nude.

  10. 10 Avery Verse

    Australian Luxury eco-friendly handbag brand Avery Verse made their mark with as a variety of Italian vegetable tanned leather in aubergine, bold red, brown & classic black handbags made their way down the runway, styled with sophisticated looks to convey the Avery Verse woman.

  11. 11 DA by Daniel

    DA by Daniel closed the show with his outlandish, Wizard of OZ inspired collection made up of intricate one of a kind pieces dominating the runway. His highly anticipated collection featuring a palette of metallic pieces made up of emerald, gold, royal purple and black including clever use of fabrics featuring Italian liquid sequin, bamboo jersey, chiffon to rubber and evening dresses that left the industry in a buzz.

The models looked gorgeous parading the 146 looks from the talented line-up of Australian designers, styled by teams from Davroe Hair and Alison Jade Cosmetics. Beauty looks created were a mix of bronze glam, smokey eyes to soft flirty hair.
